I just got an O.U.I.

Well... I'm 17 years old. I was recently arrested for consumption of alcohol while operating a vehicle.

My B.A.C. was .102

Shitty, shitty situation.

if you're 17 it can be expunged from your record if you get probation and exhibit good behavior. talk to the da/lawyer that is dealing with your case. be honest, tell them your situation with the military aspirations and such. they're not there to screw you over. and stop drinking.

I'm very fucked. There go my plans on becoming a NAVY nurse... or officer at all, for that matter. My shit is down the drain. I really just need to talk to somebody that has experienced this before... i dont know what to do. I really am fucking torn apart right now.

you mean .10 BAC not .100 cause after like .50 your fucking dead. anyways my friend had a similer thing happen, he was 16 got caught driving a little buzzed without a licence and he got his licence revoked for like 5 years and probation for 2 years... anyways he still got to join the army when he turned 18.... now he is 19. It shouldnt be a huge problem, you fucked up once that shouldnt ruin your career. And doesnt the government take anybody? just as long as they are a stable person and stuff.

HAHAHAHAHAH yuriy u idiot .100, .10, and .1 are pretty much the same number except there are less known digits. I didn't wanna have to rip on ya but it was just funny. BAC depends on how big u are and how full your stomach (the processing time). I know a chick who hit .42 or something and they brought her to that extensive care thing. Her left finger was completely palalyzed lolol. And yea carnage its not the end of the world, if you just dont anything stupid (or atleast get caught doing it) ur record gets clean. I dont remember how it takes, but my friend has a record and he told me after like 18 it doesnt show up (say if ur applying for a job).

There are also courses which you can take in order to get it removed off of your licence and it will never be seen again. I was driving my friends around, I was not drunk, they were, long story short, they got taken away in the cop car. They took a course and now its completely erased from their licence. No worries man, you'll be fine, it happens a lot more than people think.

Yeah they're all right. I had lots of shit from when i was under 18 get removed from my record. THANK JESUS. Although, i don't know the what the chances are that that information is still written down somewhere, in some computer system somewhere.

If your planning on becoming an officer i dont know how that would effect it. You might want to talk to a recruiter about it and see what they say, just dont go to a recruiting office near your place that way if they say nothing will happen then you can go sign up with a different recruiting office and they wont know shit. Most of what they said is true except for the fact that it doesnt really get erased completely, if you were to go for a job with a high security clearance like what i have than they can dig up ANYTHING from your past. Honestly i dont think this could effect your chances with the military but talk to a lawyer or the DA to see what you can do to help yourself.

i had a couple things on my record for tagging when i was under 18 and they aren't necessarily expunged like i said, but they won't show up on your record unless a judge says they can be unsealed (which unless you rape, murder, or burglarize someone won't happen). you'll be fine and follow sharky's advice on the recruiter thing.

and sharky, i picked the navy for a few different reasons:

1) My family is a huge NAVY family haha

2) The NAVY has the best medical program, impo, otherwise I would be Marine corps as well

3) My cousin is doing the same thing I plan on doing... figured it would be easier to follow in his footsteps, and he absolutely LOVES what he's doing. stationed in San Diego
