Fixing dmoneys computer need some help please

Dmoneys computer recently stopped working, when it turns on sometimes it will actually recognize the monitor and turn on, but the only thing it shows it black screen with the description of the video card and sits there with the little blinking white slash and does nothing else.....not sure what i should do, cant push any buttons or anything....maybe i should take it apart and put it back together? or something...help please!!!

Does it go past the OS's load screen and then hit the black screen with blinking cursor?

sorry Weeeed to jump in there but Envy I got one of my laptops tht does tht an Acer fucking cunt of a thing. Can get to the boot menu then black witht tht white thing,

uhm if it can make it to the boot screen first, try pressing f8 repeatedly until the boot menu opens that lets you run the computer in safe mode. if you can't do that then i don't know. and irish, you fail by buying an acer.

lol, take it to bestbuy. They'll look at it and tell you if they can fix it before charging you. I wouldn't take it apart unless you know what you're doing...and I'm assuming you don't.

Make sure your hard drive didn't melt.

I didn't just buy an acer I paid about $300 for six laptops and one of them is an acer I got 3 working now and need to fix the others.

lol well i do kinda know what im doing, but i think im just going to have someone come over and check it out, i un hooked everything and re hooked it all back up, same problem, i cant push any damn buttons at that screen..

lol dont take it to geek squad...they take your porn and music off your hard drive :O

i dont know what you meant by unhooked everything and hooked it back up but you might wanna try taking your video card and stuff out and reconnecting it..might be loose or a bad connection....my dell craptop was doing the same thing and i disconnected my ram sticks and plugged them back into place and started up the first time after that so try that and let me know how it goes ~Wonder Bread~

Did he pay you in kind for the help :p

I'd do the following: take it apart and then test each component if it works add on another, then once you get the the part that's causing this either get a new one or repair it, if possible.
