12:46 EST and the assault server is down

just thought i'd make a thread in case nobody knew

It's been down for a few hours.
Before that it was crashing like every 10 minutes, but Irish was trying to fix that.

We are currently performing unscheduled maintenance in the New York data center. This issue should be resolved shortly. I apologize for the inconvenience.


Yea it was nothing I could fix.......the above reply is from our providers!
Fuck knows whats gone wrong!! I'll update more once I know.

KK so the server shouold be ok now I have got it up and running and doesnt seem to have the restarting probs from last nite.

Let me know of any probs. I'm off to work in a min but will get on some changes later today

Irish, would this have fixed the ma_binding issues we spoke about yesterday?

I have changed a few things Surf but to be honest I'm not too sure if it will fix it. I am however thinking of changing the type of admin we use ie. Mani cause it can sometimes be quite easy to get hacked. A pain for all of us to learn new ways but it might work out better in the long run.


Update on the server: They are still having some probs and I think the server is still restarting it's self every 10 mins goes down too. I am keeping on it so hopefully it'll be ok later

if your thinking about changing the server mod, idk if my opinion will mean much, but source mod has worked best in any server ive ever played on, easier to lock up rcon due to the fact you can use source bans and noone really needs to access it, and source bans is easier to track bans, due to the fact it has a list of recent bans, ban length, admin, reason, and demo/screen right on the list

Ok cool. I was gonna mention that the server wasn't up before but I realized this was probably why. And I'm sure we'll be able to figure out the new system, most of us are moderately intelligent.

KK ppl so It looks like we more or less have a new server all clean and should be running smoothly now. You all should have you admin and all the bans are back on too.

I have fixed the BBD and I think the only thing that needs fixing is the warm-up round
There is a 60 buy time fyi just was on there and never took it off but I'll see how it goes. Will stop some nade spamming hopefully.

Am I missing anything off the MOTD btw?? And now if you want to make this as your bind for your rates bind / "ma_say Type MOTD copy and paste the rates into your console!!!!" rather than the other one you have cause they can copy and paste it in one go unlike the old bind it was one by one.

One thing I am not getting round is the warmup round!! it's beaten me today and I have a sore eyes after looking at this all day so I am leaving it untill tomorrow.



Edit..... Ps. We're staying on Mani for the minute I think the re-install of the server might have cleaned up any probs we we're having. I'll wait and see thats all. Oh and Pps ranks reset you need 50 to get ranked.

If you use the following, it will enable the deathmatch style, but makes it just knives.
Apparently it's the only way to get the deathmatch warmup working with mani, which is stupid.

mani_warmup_timer_knives_respawn 1
mani_warmup_timer_unlimited_grenades 0

Otherwise theres eventscripts or if you do eventually switch to sourcemod it has plugins for that.

Yea I have all that set but I had/have guns in there too. It was this was before and worked fine.

I just woke up and jumped in the server and theres no admin or any any groups!!
I have no idea how or when this happen as no 1 messaged me with a problem.
I am just about to get ready to go to court so I dont have time to fix this Pops will do it later hopefully.

i dont think the server went down btw, i was playing normally with koala and all them and i had my admin, while we were still playin i tried to check ma_admins and my admin was gone, i thought u were in console fucking around and took my admin and immunity to abuse me.. but that never happened, so i just ignored.. i dont remember the server crashing, this was around 2:00am to 2:30 am my time, so 6:30 or 7:30 am your time
