my computer keeps crashing when i play on...

my pc crashes every 5 minutes when it try and play CSS on [GoG] servers. and only [GoG] servers. this is reaaalllyyy bumming me out. it has no error message, and no nothing. it just in the middle of a game or right before it finishes loading my monitor goes dark and the little led turns yellow and nothing works until i manually flip it off and turn it back on....

i have System Mechanic 6 which albeit is the older one but still works fine and the newest Norton... and i run them and nothing is wrong with my pc... yet it keeps crashing. sigh...

have you overclocked your computer at all? If so, might wanna lower it a little.

reinstall everything in the whole world + the stuff on ur computer.

nope my pc isnt overclocked. idk about my graphics card and stuff bc im pretty sure you can buy those already overclocked but i dont think anything is.

its just being dumb. im going to run a whole bunch more tests, pirate some newer software (maybe nod32 or this one i hear about with and "a") and then im going to delete a bunch of crap..

there is really no reason this should be happening and my pc diagnostics tests tell me everything is fine... sigh

id i were u id, get another Hard drive, or external harddrive, save all ur important information/files on there and reformat.

Does it crash only in CSS or does it happen randomly? sounds like a PSU (power supply) or a MB (Mother Board) issue if it happens randomly.

it happens only when playing css as far as i know. but it might happen during any graphically intense game since ive only been playing css lately. my pc used to (idk about now) be able to handle bioshock on near max if not max settings so it cant be my graphics card i think (unless it broke..). im thinking its my monitor because it used to make this high pitched squealing sound when i played css and its stopped now but instead just goes blank. i dont think my computer is actually crashing because the other day i had itunes open in the background and had css muted and when the monitor died i could still hear my itunes music playing until the album was done and the led on my cpu stays green unlike the monitor which turns yellow.

im going to either buy a monitor from goodwill or take the old one from my dads work computer and see if it still crashes. if it doesnt then ill go and buy a new monitor.

EDIT: ok ive been playing on other servers and other graphically dependent games and my computer is completely fine. i spend 5 minutes on any [GoG] server and my computer crashes. WTF?!?! can we reset the servers or something please?? i havent been able to play on [GoG] for over a week because of this...

My brother had somewhat of the same problem with his computer, although it was just like every 5 mins, not just in games, even when he wasn't doing anything. He took it in to some computer fixing place and he said they told him that his processor was not screwed in properly on one side or something and it led that part to overheat. Dunno if its the same with yours. Previous to the fix, he tried a bunch of tests as well and none of them said anything was wrong.

mines only in games and my brother is reporting that it crashes for him too and he doesnt play on [GoG].. im going to open it up within the next few days and dust everything off and see if anything looks suspicious (like melting....)
