| I used to play too until I realized it was pretty much a time-based upgrade system. | |

| The time based upgrade system bothered me too (I don't really like the idea of nolifers getting an advantage over casual players in FPS), but it's based on achievements rather than time actually, and some servers will help you get your achievements (search for servers with "achievement" in their name, or running maps with a name containing achievement. Otherwise, I usually play on a server called TnT. But I don't play a lot since I have some FPS issue (I get like 15-20 FPS in tense situations, if anyone has a solution I'd be glad to hear it). | |

| Yeah I can't really afford a new computer for the moment :/ Plus my current one isn't that old, it's just that it's a laptop. The strange thing though is that lowering the detail level doesn't really make me gain a lot of FPS (10-20% at most) | |

Already tried that (you meant reinstall TF2 btw? ), no success Oh, well, I guess I'll have to live with it :/

It's a "real" graphic card, not just a chipset. It has 1GiB of VRAM, which is definitely too much according to GPU-Z (which reports a maximum usage of around 200MiB). So I can be sure that the VRAM isn't the issue.

| Nah it's definitely cold enough, doesn't even reach 70°C while some ppl are reporting working temperatures around 80°C. Plus Crysis Warhead works decently. I actually found a workaround: I play in 1024*768 in windowed mode, and my FPS are much better (I don't remember seeing them drop below 40 with these new settings)

Hm... No but the CPU's frequency remains properly high while playing, so is it really worth trying to disable it? (you configure that in the BIOS I suppose?)
