To set a few things straight about a vac ban...

First off a little something about hacks...

Hacks are nothing more then applications which change memory to give you an edge in the game. In short it changes the memory favlues which store the transparency of walls to give you a wallhack etc etc.

That being said, there are many ways to make a hack, all must "hook" functions of the actual game to edit these memories. Ok so with that being said, a lot of different hacks have been made, using different methods. Most public hacks, and I mean a good 99% of them are detected. Not by their name but by their hook. How they change memory.

Here is the thing about VAC; they are not stupid. When a hack maker creates a hack the method of either injection or hook may already be detected. A lot of hacks may be public but the ways they are created are not. So, VAC realizing this says "hey, we are not going to kick or ban right away, that will make it obvious what is detected in our system, so we will use a delay before we ban them to keep creators and cheaters guessing." And it works. So you play with a hack, delete it right after doesn't matter, and a day, week, month or half a year later you could be perminantly banned. No way of knowing why or how, just banned.

Now as for "lulz why don't you just get a fake account", the reason is because there is no such thing. The cloest thing to this is a cafe account which typically does not get banned because Valve understands that an array of people may be using it, and it's under a special license.

You cannot spoof a steam ID becuase each key is stored in a database as active or inactive, trying to spoof an existing steam id without a valid password is the same as trying to guess a password. Trying to spoof a key not yet activated wont connect to the steam servers. So you don't have an option there. You cannot try to program your way into unbanning yourself because that is not controlled by a third party software like punkbuster, VAC is built in.

So to sum it up, if you're stupid enough to cheat try to be smart enough to understand the mechanics of it. You will get banned, your account will never be unbanned and it will suck a lot.

No, don't send messages on how to make hacks, about programming a hack or hacking in general. If you have any other questions about C,C++ or C# feel free to hit me up.

(On a side note, the reason it's possible (but not necessairly easy) to get around a ban set by punkbuster is because their application is not built into the game (the control an array of games) and their software has to be loaded independantly, giving you access to their software. You can try to debug their dll's and detour / hook their own functions to prevent a kick / ban, but that's it. Even then you can find a lot of source code guiding your way to do this but it isn't easy. It's way easier to just not cheat. Get some skill and have fun.

Materials can edit rtransparency, and if you knew anything an "executable" hack (do you mean native?) can also edit transperency of models.

You cannot spoof ids, it does work. I am sucking nothing.

Do you want me to start pasting code as a proof of concept?

FURTHERMORE you don't have to "edit" the dll files, first off you can change offsets in game for desired effects OR you can use detours to HOOK (override) the game functions to boot.

Again, do you need proof of concepts?

As for your spoofing of ids, no it cannot be done.
Provide one proof of concept to prove me wrong.

as for your "Hooks EDIT DLLs, and exe. files dont edit transparencies they load New Materials Within the EXE. to the game" comment, a hook doesn't edit a dll it overrides a given function. .exe files can edit transperencies, and theres no need to "load new materials within an exe" (what does this mean) where you can just load materials where vac doesnt do md5 checksums on materials.

If I where you, I'd stop you're boasting about knowing languages. Stop telling me to stop checking out mpcforum and maybe you should read a thing or two yourself there. You might learn something that you didn't know previously.

Just to play it safe, I do not nor have I ever cheat at online multiplayer games. This discussion is all merely proof of concept and to inform you guys about the inner workings of VAC and Steam. Hopefully the above will make you understand the workings of a programmer who developes cheats or a person who uses them. If you see a hacker, VAC tends to wait a significant amount of time before initiating a VAC ban simply to not make obvious which cheats are detected. That was the only point being iterated.

Refusing to browse those forums is your choice, but don't refuse out of spite. You may learn a great deal about hacks, and to create servierside applications to detect those hacks based off the public hooking methods, to lead to a more secure server with hackers (google cdeath for a prime example, one of the best anti-cheating programs of it's time before its eventual demise).

As for my browsing of MPC? I browse an array of sites related to programming, which isn't limited to MPC (the snipper of code above was not obtained from MPC).

Don't take offence Sweet.sprayer, I only intend to show you the possabilities that are possible, if I say something it is because I know it to be true and have the ability to show you that.
