steam phail

so i'm back at school, unfortunately. and for the hell of it i try to logon to see if i can play cause usually i would just lagout but no, now steam gets to the connecting screen but never progresses. ctrl-alt-del shows its running fine, so does this just mean their firewall is blocking it?

Any suggestions?

i said if u contact an internet provider, they have some good low offers like 20$ a month, since u wont be playin much and wont use all the bandwidth, i think that is just about enough.. i dont think u should be spendin more money on that since ur at school, and would have less time to play, dig into it and hopefully it works out

http://www.canyouseeme.org/ put in the port that steam runs its updates on, I don't know it off hand at work atm, ill find it later if you don't find it. if the port is open try going to your steam folder and delete the clientregistry.blob file then reopen steam.

Thats pretty cool, yea i'm not sure what the port is but interestingly enough the other day i tried getting on steam and it got me on and my friends list worked but no servers showed up
